Care Coaching Service
NEW BOOKINGS AVAILABLE!
Is your family member in a psychiatric hospital or out of the home attending a residential program? Are you concerned about what will happen when they return home? Families for Depression Awareness’ Care Coaching Service may be right for you.
Care Coaching Service
Our Care Coaching Service provides caregivers with support so that they are able to best help their family member. The service is right for you if:
- you are the parent, spouse, or other relative of a Massachusetts resident
- your family member is temporarily out of the home due to a psychiatric hospitalization or residential treatment but will be returning soon
- you have access to a phone or the internet
- you can commit to completing the entire program including follow-up surveys.
What Happens During the Service
The service, grant funded by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, includes two meetings either over the phone or Zoom. During the meetings, you and the Care Coach will discuss:
- general information about mood disorders
- tips for making the home safer
- coaching on communication skills
- advice on finding a therapist
- emotional support and self-care strategies.
You will complete a workbook that will be yours to keep at the end of service.
