The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) put out two important advisories:
- Adults being treated with antidepressant medications should be watched closely for worsening of depression and for increased suicidal thinking or behavior (June, 2005).
- For children: black box warning of an increased risk (4% compared to 2%) of suicidal thinking and behavior in children and adolescents on antidepressants (February, 2005).
