When teens speak to their peers about the existence of depressive disorders and the reality of effective treatment, they create an incredibly powerful opportunity to reduce the shame and fear that so often stand in the way of healing and recovery. Here are a few ways you can be involved:

  • BE A TEEN SPEAKER. If you live in Massachusetts and are15 to 20 years old, you can take part in a bureau of teen speakers within Families for Depression Awareness. This is a great way to educate other teens and adults in your community about depressive disorders.
  • CONNECT A TEEN WITH THIS OPPORTUNITY. Feel strongly about the importance of mental health discussions amongst teens? Know someone who would be perfect for this? Tell him/her about it!
