What we do
- Family Profiles reduce stigma by showing
that people from all walks of life can suffer from depression. Family
Profiles are interviews with people diagnosed with depression describing
their symptoms, how they cope with the condition, and how their families
help them. Families can access the profiles on the web site and e-mail the
profiles to other families at risk.
- Promotional activities include e-mail, mailings, and public relations
of Family Profiles to families and the media.
- Syndication of Family Profiles to organizations concerned with
health, women's issues, and suicide prevention.
- Speaking engagements and conferences.
- Community outreach to schools, police stations, health facilities, religious
organizations, employers, and nursing homes.
- Depression awareness workshops with other health and suicide prevention
organizations.
- Advocacy to support families with depression.
